Hand Ornament- Zaalima Hath phool 3
Very delicate and stylish hand ornament with 2 rings and bangle.
This Hathpool (or flowers for the hand), is from Hindukush. It consists of a stones-set flower-encrusted bracelet with stone-set chains leading to another flower on the back of the palm and similar chains connecting it to the five rings on the five fingers, each ring with a different motif.
The setting of stones known is achieved by little pits being carved out in the front of the ornament of the size of the stones being used.
The hands of the wearer are decorated with mehendi or henna designs, itself a work of art
Each of the pieces of this collection are handcrafted in very remote villages up high in the mountains in the area what was earlier called the Hindu Kush range. The artisans have been doing this for generations without the help of modern gadgets and amenities. The result are these breathtaking pieces. They have far more beauty and grace than the machine made jewellery. It is common to find some observations like asymmetrical patterns, some stones different or missing, something bigger or smaller, small difference between a pair of earrings or bangles, etc. These are not defects, but part of the authenticity and heritage of this type of handmade jewellery.
